THE GBG YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

    That word development can scare some people. But player development takes place at every level of this game from tee ball to the Big Leagues. At the Major League level there is one person whose title is Director of Player Development. So don't let it scare you! Its what we do!

     To develop a player there needs to be a transfer of knowledge from coach to player and then a desire in the player to work on that knowledge he just received. Baseball is a game of repetition and while practice does not make perfect, practice makes permanent, we teach our players the correct terminology and fundamental skills required to play at the next level whether that is high school or beyond. We also teach these young men how to be leaders. To leave no teammate behind. To pick one another up. To search out those in need. And proper manners in becoming a young man, future husband, and father. We maintain our focus as student/athletes and require our players to work as hard in the classroom as they do on the field. One day this baseball career will be over. One day someone will take their uniform from them for the last time and all they will have left is their education and the people they met along the way.

      Our job isn't just to build baseball players but to teach life lessons through this game we love.

We have tryouts every quarter but are always looking for solid kids wanting to work and learn everything about this game. If your family would like to be a part of ours please fill out the GBG interest list above. We will invite you to come workout with the team.
